HD's Landscaping Design Process
STEP 1
A representative from HD's Landscaping will spend up to
1 hour at your residence, gathering information and any ideas that you have in mind for landscaping your home. We will ask questions to enable us come up with a design based on your likes, dislikes, color preference, style, and use of space.
It is necessary to know the budet for your project. With such a wide variety of plant sizes and prices to choose from, it is almost impossible for us to guess which plants to place into the overall design without a budget.
The fee for the design service is $125.00 for residential properties, $185.00 and up for commercial properties. The fee is collected at the time of your appointment.
We will then take photographs and measurements of the
area(s) to be landscaped. Using a computer-assisted design program we will place plant shapes and colors that are representative of the plants that we have chosen for your design. Once finished, these pictures will give you a very good idea of what the final project will look like.
Since we are very thorough in our plant selection based on site location, sun/shade requirements, and plant growth patterns, this is the most time-consuming part of the process. Your design should be completed in two to three weeks.
We will no longer be doing sketches for customers. From the feedback we have received, the photos are much easier to visualize than the drawings. The exception for this is if the area(s) to be landscaped are overgrown and we are unable to mask out existing plants from the photo. In this case, a sketch will be provided.
STEP 2
We will meet with you and go over the design plan and make any changes at this time. Once your deposit is received, we will schedule your installation and contact Miss Utility to mark for underground lines.
NOTE: Since our income is generated from landscape installations, not designs, details of your plan (specific plant names) will only be given once a deposit is received.
STEP 3: Installation - It's that easy!
On installation day, we bring all the plants and materials to your property. We complete the necessary prep work, place plants according to the design, and water thoroughly.
All that's left for you to do is enjoy your new landscaping! We will provide you with complete care instructions to keep your plants healthy. We also offer regular tree and shrub fertilization services for an additional fee.
A Note for Do-it-Yourselfers
If you know that you want to do the work yourself, please tell us when scheduling your design appointment. In addition to the photos, we will need to provide you with a drawing and plant names in order for you to install. The fee for this service is $375.00 and up, depending on the scope of work to be completed.
